Allmost wordless Thursday & the BTW picture I forgot to put here!

I have been sorting beads recently and decided that I needed to revisit Stephanie Sersich's Spiny Knotted Bracelets.. the one on the left has lots of little lampwork beads, the Carmen Miranda wanna be is a collection of glass fruits and vintage lucite flowers that I've been collecting, hording over the years.  Love the grape button on the Carmen Miranda knock off!  (Took this picture yesterday... Put it on my FB page and forgot to put it here... but since I forgot you get this monrings roof pictures too!)
This is why the Gallery is temporarily closed for the season...  Although I'm hoping it comes down today.  The snow pack on the deck had dropped by over 30% in the last couple of days.... The deck will not be shovelled until the roof unloads it's snow! (It's a metal roof so can't put heating wires on it... at least I haven't found any that were suitable for metal!)  Snow move overnight as we at 1.5 mm rain....

Almost Wordless Wednesday & Bead Table Wednesday (BTW)

These are sugar cube beads... I tripped over an online tutorial to make these at beadifferent.com.

The one on the left has had the sugar cube dissolved ... When I had finished the first one ... I thought that the 'weave' was way to open but once you are looking though the bead it looks great!

Almost Wordless Wednesday & Bead Table Wednesday (BTW)

First off.. BTW...  My first attempt at resin... actually there are two pieces.. the other one had a solid back which was soldered on... no gaps in the solder... but there was a gap where the loop joins and yes the resin all drained out... Anyone know what where or what the above  image is?

And BTW the original meaning for BTW (By The Way) I am not in love with Resin at all...  Not being able to touch something that I can see for 6 hours... and then having to leave it a further 3 days...  Yea yea.. I'm a lampworker I stick my beads in a kiln for 12 or 15 hours... however I can't see them... I don't have a great deal of desire to play with something I can't see!

My token flower picture... Wish they were mine but they aren't, they belong to the Gardens at Roosevelt's cottage on Campobello!

Almost Wordless Wednesday & Bead Table Wednesday (BTW)

I carry my Etsy store with me when I travel by 'road'... I usually have less than 30 items so no big deal to haul along 30 beads!  Of course I sold the one thing I did not have with me... the little gumball machine on the right!  My customer was very understanding about waiting the 2 weeks til I got home...  Then I got home and couldn't find it!  So I spent 2 days making 'gum ball machine beads... they are made as one piece.. Then they get filled.... my rug is still full of seed beads! Every time I got another 'machine' filled I'd send off a picture.. about the time she finally found one that she liked as well as the one she had bought... I found the one that she had bought... however it was no longer her first love...   So my bead table is covered with filled gumball machines and this post is anything but wordless!

Almost Wordless Wednesday & Bead Table Wednesday (BTW)

Latest panel....  It's actually sitting upside down in my family room window... but I have figured out how to hang it... then it should be off to it's new home!
The scarf... I need to finish the ends... think I will make a flower out of the left over beads and yarn... Anyone have any nice flower patterns... I have a few but they're for felting so not nearly enough stitches!  I took too long to get back to it after I finished the first end ... so the two ends didn't match so I had to rip back end number one and redo it....  the scarf was actually started in the middle and knitted towards the ends....

And...  I did get my tooth refilled the day after the original attempt....  1 month + two days later it's still holding.... and I'm getting used to the tooth's new shape!

Almost Wordless Wednesday & Bead Table Wednesday

I bought myself this on St Paddy's day... I thought a green Orchid was a most appropriate gift... And since it's still thriving after 2 weeks it doesn't look like it's going to commit suicide because it didn't approve of the move!

And on my bead table... (OK it's the floor) is my prize from coming second in the tassel challenge.... The prize took 31 days to get from CA to a small Canadian Island off the coast of ME! That is a new record for me for parcels coming from the US... someone didn't like the way Sig wrote my address... but you can clearly see that what they rewrote is exactly what was there in the first place!

This was the tassel and 'chain' that I won with... here's the link to the original challenge!

Bead Table Wednesday

This is more or less what my 'Bead Tray'  looked like last night when I finished the bracelet!  This was a 3 day project and inspite of cutting off over an inch of the spiral core .. I think it is still too long!  I really like the toggle though and can see lots of uses for it in other projects!

(The pink you see showing through the 'spikey beads' is part of the spiral weave base.
