It's the little old lady from Pasadena
The little old lady from Pasadena
Has a pretty little flower bed of white gardenias
But parked in a rickety old garage is a brand-new, shiny red, super stock Dodge
(*)And everybody's saying that there's nobody meaner than the little old lady from Pasadena
She drives real fast, and she drives real hard
She's the terror of Colorado Boulevard
It's the little old lady from Pasadena
If you see her on the street don't try to choose her
You might drive a (?) but you'll never lose her
Well, she's gonna get a ticket now, sooner or later
'Cause she can't keep her foot off the accelerator
Well... I got a speeding ticket 2 days before I left for GA.... The constable that stopped me kept telling me that I would get to talk to the man with the LIDAR gun... (new improved kind of radar... fail proof idiot proof. ….) today... my day in court!
{The man with the lidar may have clocked someone in a red car going significantly over the speed limit but it wasn’t yours truly…. The guy that stopped me got the WRONG red car!!!! (I may have been going slight faster than the suggested speed limit.... but I wasn’t going anywhere close to the speed he claimed I was!)}
SO I went to SJ last night 140 mile return trip spent the night in town... so that I would get my day in court…. Guess what ….... did I get to talk to anyone... no I got to plead guilty... my court date is OCTOBER 30... do you think anybody is going to remember anything as insignificant as a speeding ticket 7 months after the infraction... Do you have any idea how much it costs to have everyone go to court twice for a insignificant speeding ticket... this is right up there with Delta Airlines wanting to charge me $150 for being 1 pound over on my checked baggage!
There were 5 sheriffs in court, one judge, one crown lawyer, one police constable at the table with the lawyer, and a records' clerk, and then there were 3 more sheriffs standing outside the court…. You do the math!
Oh and PS I drive a Red Mustang not "DODGE"!

A window on my Jellyfish
This is my one of my new jellyfish window beads.... First one of these I tried I didn't have nearly enough clear and I ground off half of the poor jellyfish....
I did another one after this and noticed that there was sort of a line of scratches down one side so I grabbed it to repolish and got this one instead...
Now they both need to be repolished! Since I screwed up this one in my repolish attempt!
The bead is just over and inch in diameter.... and took over an hour to make!

Classmates . COM
My husband tripped over classmates.com earlier in the year... He went to a fairly small rural High School in Saskatchewan and actually remembers the students from other years... I went to a large city school in Edmonton Alberta and might have known the names of 10% of my class... I joined originally as a free looky-loo ... but if you don't pay you can't see anything...
While I was in Georgia I got an email saying that my class was trying to organize a 35th reunion the August long weekend... Well even though I have no intention of being in Alberta that weekend yesterday I coughed up my money and upgraded to a gold membership... (so now I can see things!) Think there are 70 + members of the grad class registered (15- 20%?) of which I recognize about 6 names....
Where am I going to be the August long weekend.. I should be at home running the gallery however I think I am going to be in Ottawa taking a class from Anastasia! It's being organized by Grace aka Lauscha Lady
What does this bracelet have to do with classmates.com... absolutely nothing... It was my entry into a rainbow themed on line jewelry contest ...

Where are the pictures....
OK I know i promised pictures but it is sunny and 85 here... I am not going to sit in the house editing pictures when I can be outside digging weeds! Normally in May and June we get fog until noon... although the fog does let me sleep in .. Now I get a blast of sun about 6:30 am....
My new plants are all planted think I need a few annuals or perennials to fill in some holes and a nice light rain for an hour between 3 am and 4 am.... The token picture is some of my lilies near the bead shop (summer of 2007... they were taller than me... not that that would be difficult!) the 16 lily bulbs I planted this year have about a 20% germination rate... wondering if the deer dug them out and ate them!
Time to go see what yesterdays beads look like.. I did make beads yesterday in between weeds! NO new jellyfish yesterday.. I do have some made into pendants for the gallery but I don't have any loose focals floating around .... SOON....

I'm Home!!!
Still no pictures... and yes the sun is trying to shine.. but I'm not sure where all the things that I made are now... my luggage has been unpacked in piles all over the house... they started out as sorted piles .....
Highlights of the trip... the customer service counter staff at Delta... Surly & totally unhelpful in Bangor going to Atlanta... Leaving Atlanta, upgrade from Surly to Rude and Nasty! I got told off for not getting my boarding pass from the kiosk... Kiosk wouldn't give it to me as I was booked on two different airlines... then she wanted to charge me $150 for my suitcase because it weighed 51 pounds... Since I was flying internationally I could have had a second piece of luggage for free... Thumbs DOWN to DELTA's check in staff!!!!
However you do get free Ginger Biscotties on the plane....
The third week at WH we were surrounded by Tornadoes... none came really close but it was fun watching the sky... don't think they are in drought conditions any more either after all the rain they got that week!
All my flights coming home left on time and got in early!!!!!
Mom now seems to be recovering quite well from her broken hip... I detoured home from Atlanta via Edmonton for Mother's Day. She uses a walker with huge wheels when she's outside walking and her companion practically has to jog to keep up .... The back alley behind the house is a real mess so not terribly walker friendly.... I had two nice days weather wise there before the snow started floating past the windows.... But it's even colder there now!
From Edmonton I went to Toronto.. to visit G's youngest son.. we slept on the living room furniture I got the love seat... G complained about the couch the first morning... I suggested he could have the love seat I would take the full size couch... no more complaints! Weather there got cold after the first day too! Wanted to pick up some glass while I was there... clear & white.... Nortel didn't have any CLEAR!!!! SO to drown my sorrows got about 10 pounds of other new colours.....
Will have to spend my $50 gift certificate that I got from Artistry in Glass on clear glass .. how boring!
Left Sunday to drive home... Martha G's GPS sent us on a new route through Vermount, New Hampshire and Maine.... Very pretty... until we got to the border line up in Calais ME... 103 minutes after we joined the line we were free in Canada!
Got home very late Monday night.... spent yesterday removing weeds from the front gardens, swatting black flies, doing laundry, and buying groceries and plants on the mainland!
What did I miss?

Heading home
Well I left WH friday noon and spent the night in Atlanta ... saturday I flew to Edmonton... on Delta... I got to the check in .. since I was flying internationally I was entitled to 2 free bags I had one... it weighed 51 pounds.. the Delta rep gave me a choice... are you going to loose a pound or PAY $150!!!! I had a book stuck in the front pocket of my suitcase which actually weighed 1 pound 6 oz so I removed the book and added it to my carry on... But $150 for being one pound over weight... (Canadian airlines let you have two free cases on all flights!!!!)
Edmonton is where I grew up but it certainly is not the direct route back to my little Island! Sunday Mother's day we all went out for brunch... then I helped my siter pull weeds and repile siding... gorgeous day! Yesterday was also a gorgeous day tomorrow it is suppose to snow here... goody goody!
Yesterday we went plant shopping, not much got planted though since it is suppose to freeze tonight ... Dad bought a bag of set onions and has a bunch left over I said I'd take some of them home.. he says I have to take them as carry on.. I figure security will confiscate them.... Let me know if you think I will get to keep them on my comments! Actually they may not even show up in the xray....
Thursday I'm suppose to fly to Toronto were G will meet me then we will head for home on Sunday... No pictures until I get home... this is a Mac and I'm Mac illiterate... I can figure out how to type on this computer and not much more!

More of the same
Sorry it's still raining so no pictures!
Last class started this morning... It's fun so far....
But, I have a room all to myself this week... that's the good news, the bad news is my roomie last week got up every morning and went downstairs and brought me back coffee in bed.. I have to get my own coffee this week!
One of the highlights here is the Tuesday night auctions.. students bring things to donate and they are auctioned off.. last week i cost a lot of people a lot of money but didn't end up with anything, the first week i actually had to spend the money... will see what I get tomorrow!

Lost in the wilds of Northern Georgia
Yesterday was a rainy Saturday... and today looks like rain too.... I'm currently in residence at William Holland Laipidary School in Young Harris Georgia... Above is a view from the grounds...
Lasy week was sunny and over 80... I'm here for three weeks, the first week I took a cold connections class from Kim St Jean... that was a lot of fun and I now have all sorts of new steam punk copper jewellery... I think I need a few more arms to wear all of my bracelets!
Last week I took a cabbing class from Betty James... Cabbing is something that I've never done... 30 years ago I did spent a couple of weeks slabbing and polishing some rocks for someones rock collection.. but that was long ago and far away! G (my husband) will be happy to know that I have no desire what soever to buy myself the equipment to continue cabbing at home! However I think I did figure out what I'm doing wrong with my flat lap set up I bought for polishing glass beads! The hi lite of the week was the piece of petrified wood that I cut and polished ( I thought it was really nice until the instructor looked at it and said it looked the moon that you cut out of an out house door...
I also managed to fit in a number of demos for the advanced bead making class... they all got a free unadvertized guest instructor.. I did jellyfish and crackle beads...
and my last class which starts tonight is a Silver 2 class... a class on creative ways to texture and alter silver... thennest weekend I start heading north!
Pictures of finished pieces may start showing up if the sun starts shining!
