Ground Hog day

Well when I got up it was cloudy... but the sun shone for a few minutes right around 10 am ... so since I'm not sure what time our local ground hog sticks his head out of the ground I don't know if we have another 6 weeks of winter or not! (actually I don't even know if we have ground hogs here or not!) I did find this little guy wandering around though! You have to click on his den to get him to come out!

Will he see his shadow?

.... I think it will take at least 6 weeks to melt all the ice & snow that we've got this winter!

is room to stick my beach towel
on the sand beside that palm tree?
Wonder how hard it would be to find someone to deliver me a Pina Colada once I figure out how to get my towel onto
Paradise Beach?

I'm a Winner...

Well sort of... I entered a quarterly 'bead contest' at Artistry in Glass a Canadian Glass Supplier in London ON. I actually entered one of my favorite beads... this is not the same view that was entered...

and was the runner up in the Intermediate category... Pictures of winners Reading the fine print on the web site I believe that the runner up is actually a name drawn from all the entries.. so I could have entered a pile of frit and still won!

What do I win 20 rods of glass (their choice) as long as I order something before the end of March and pay the shipping on the order. Actually I do need some clear glass ...

Should we take bets on what my 20 free rods are... are they going to be a selection of the most popular glass rods they carry, a sample set of the new cool colour rods (in my dreams!), or 20 rods of a colour that was discontinued because no one bought it, or I suppose if I order 5 -10 pounds of clear 006 Effretti they might just give me an extra 20 rods of that!

Hudson Oddities - Audrey Hudson

Audrey is one of the women who's work I carry in my gallery... Hudson Oddities unfortunately all you get with that link is a title page, promising that the site will be here soon....
Audrey makes beach glass jewellery or to quote her “Beach Glass Creations”out of REAL beach glass not out of tumbled art glass. When I first started carrying her work in 2002 in SK all she did was paint on beach glass...


Back in 2002 when you got your first order it came with a light house display stand… Since then she's come out with a line of one of a kind wire wrap sterling and gold fill jewellery.

According to rumour Audrey has always collected Beach glass, the story goes that sometime around 1998 she was told to do something with her 1000's of pieces of glass or throw it all away…. so she started painting the glass, then her father built her a 4 story light house to work in which looks a lot like her original light house displays! This fall her business became a economusee.
If you go visit her in her you will see a wonderful display of glass when you tour the upper floors of her lighthouse, you can browse through her boutique on the main floor or you can even create your own piece of beach glass art in one of her 1 hour workshops.
